Power & Trust

True power lies in the ability a person or group has to get others to say “yes” or agree with something. Whether through coercion or force, skillful deception or simply because they trust you. The sum total of any person or group lies in the trust or willingness of those involved, either directly or indirectly, everything from an individual person to entire nations or, indeed, all nations and people. The total thoughts and energy dedicated to a specific idea or problem necessarily makes it a reality created in the minds of all participants. So when a country goes to war, or a company makes policies that infringe or subvert its users, it’s the combined acceptance or agreement of those involved that sets the “reality” of the final outcome.

If we believe things just “happen” more or less at random, and all we can do is react to that, then what we’re left with denial of responsibility for our part in the larger picture.

If you have an idea or a problem to solve, naturally, a solution will be found more quickly if you can employ the thoughts and energy of others to help you. Whether it’s moving day and you need a few extra bodies or your trying to build something complex, getting others to help you is often key to success.

Trust is by far the most valuable commodity, above all else. It is the key that allows you to move as freely as possible. When we have someone’s trust or support it takes less of our own energy to accomplish what we set out. To gain people’s trust; compliment them, show respect, help them without attachment to any specific outcome & support them.

Usually, when we feel negative emotions towards someone or from an interaction it is because of one or more of the following:

  1. Criticism
  2. Blame
  3. Insults
  4. Judgment
  5. Demands

Using this information we can make better choices about how we can positively handle future situations and stop ourselves ahead of time before making mistakes we cannot take back.
